In a world driven by media and unrealistic norms of what is considered "beautiful", how youth understand their value and self worth is especially important. This workshop is all about exploring self-love and self-acceptance. Here we aim to create a safe space where participants feel comfortable talking about our bodies, our insecurities, stresses and anxiety. We aim to generate positive discussion surrounding topics such as positive body image, mindfulness, self-acceptance, self-love and positive affirmations. Participants will leave this workshop with a greater understanding of where these feelings of self-doubt and self-consciousness come from, and tips, tools and tricks to tackle these feelings and situations.
This workshop promotes building each other UP! At Rising Strong, we aim to reverse the negative downward spiral of tearing others down. Another individual's success does NOT take away from your own; it should add to your inspiration! InspiHER aims to create a safe environment for participants to engage in activities and discussions around positive use of social media, how to deal with rumors and drama, healthy relationships and personal goal setting.
Running off the Love Your Selfie workshop, this workshop is for a parent/guardian/role model to attend with a youth participant.
It is just as important for youth to know their own value and self-worth as it is for the adults in their life. How adults perceive and talk about themselves affects young individuals as well. The language and topics of conversation adults engage in with youth or around youth are very persuasive.
Participants will leave this workshop with a better understanding of how to have meaningful and positive conversations that boost both the adult and the youth's self-esteem and value. This space also gives a chance to create a deeper bond in a way you never thought was needed. The workshop has youth and adults split up for discussions, and come back together for some fun and celebrating of each other!
Vision boards are visual representations of your hopes, goals and desires. They help you visually experience what you want to do, where you want to go, who you want to be and how you want to feel. Research has proven if you can visually see a goal, you are more likely to achieve it!
Host a Vision Board workshop or party today, your future will thank you!
Want a night in with your friends? We come to YOU!
Please note, all workshops can be altered to best fit the group or organization's needs.
Building confidence and self-esteem does not come overnight. It is a life-long journey, but starting somewhere gives participants a chance to succeed!
Follow up workshops are encouraged to evaluate how participants have grown and where they still require assistance and encouragement.

About International Day of the Girl & Plan Canada
International Day of the Girl is globally celebrated on October 11th. In 2012, Plan International Canada led the global movement with the support of the Canadian Parliament and the United Nations to officially declare October 11 as International Day of the Girl.
The movement supports opportunities for girls and increases awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide. This inequality includes areas such as right to education/access to education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care, child marriage, and violence against women and girls.
The celebration of the day also reflects the successful emergence of girls and young women as a distinct group in development policy, programming, campaigning and research. It is a key moment every year to shine a light on the many issues that affect girls around the world.
Every girl has a dream of some kind – one that’s personal and meaningful to how she wants to live her life. Together, we can play a part in supporting girls to help make their aspirations a reality. We need to come together to support girls’ rights, break down gender stereotypes, and change perceptions about what’s possible for girls.
Together, we are all Rising Strong!

8 like minded individuals - all with different backgrounds and community work surrounding the the body positive movement - have come together to bring you the BoPo Panel - a live recorded podcast event.
We're all on a mission and have one common goal: to expand education on the topic of body positivity and reach a broader audience of diverse individuals in our community, to open up a dialogue about each complex topic under the umbrella of body positivity.
Tickets are $10.00, with proceeds from the event going to the Women's Health Clinic, to support those struggling with eating disorder and other body image issues.
